According to the data compiled by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the Central Bank of Italy, the number of tourists coming to Italy increased by 156% in the January-July period of 2022, exceeding 37.4 million. The country hosted 54.7 million tourists in 2019.

Number of overnight tourists

The number of tourists coming to Italy and staying overnight increased by 196% in the January-July period of 2022 and exceeded 26.3 million. The country hosted 36.8 million tourists in 2019.
On the other hand, the number of tourists who came to Italy but did not stay overnight increased by 98 and exceeded 11.3 million. The country received 17.8 million tourists in 2019.
