According to the data compiled by the Tourism Databank, the tourism statistics center, from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics (INE), the number of tourists coming to Spain increased by 220% in the January-August period of 2022, exceeding 48 million. The country hosted 15 million tourists in 2021 and 58 million in 2019.
In 8 months of 2022, the most tourist arrivals were from the UK. The market, which reached 10.2 million, was followed by France with 7 million tourists. The country also hosted 6.6 million tourists from Germany. These markets were followed by the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Italy.
